Bivvy, Carp tents

Carp bivvy - our second home!

The angler's tent is one of the most important things for comfortable fishing.

That's why it's extremely important that our bivvy is spacious, functional and quick and easy to assemble. Above all, a tent should give an angler a feeling of safety and shelter during a fishing trip in any conditions. You could say that a tent is like an angler's mobile home, where everyone should feel happy and comfortable.

Designing the finest carp tent that meets every requirement is not a simple matter. That's why at Tandem Baits we base our "fishing M4" designs on specialist knowledge, long-standing experience as well as modern design tools and high quality components. All that so that every angler can feel at home when fishing in a tent. So which fishing tent to choose, because the Tandem Baits offer is quite wide?

It oscillates in many options of tent selection so that every angler, without exception, can find something suitable for himself. However, in order to make the best choice, we need to determine for what purpose we will need our new bivvy. If you fish alone, your trips are short or you choose very bushy spots, it is worth considering a compact or brolly tent. These are much smaller and lighter, which makes them much easier to transport. If you usually fish alone, but sometimes take a friend with you, it's worth choosing a hybrid version. Such a carp tent can be converted, e.g. you can change the front panel and make a large single into a double one. If, on the other hand, space is important to you, or you're fishing with a larger group of friends or family, it's worth opting for the largest fishing tents, which can accommodate up to four people, tackle and a dog.

The purpose of owning a carp tent is first and foremost to provide shelter. That's why we go to great lengths to ensure that our tents have high specifications and a range of amenities so that you can use them in all conditions.

This is what to look for when choosing a fishing tent:

The fabric - that is the walls and roof of your fishing home.

We use modern, lightweight fabrics with high mechanical strength for our carp tents. The waterproof fabric protects against precipitation, of course, but it also protects the tent from dampness. This is because a special waterproof polyester is used to manufacture such fabrics. Additionally the fabrics used in the production of fishing tents have, depending on the model, one, two or three layers of internal lamination, which ensures water resistance of 5000 mm, 10000 mm and 15000 mm. Our new models of carp tents - Phantom Dx2 have water resistance of15000 mm and also have integrated ribbing, which significantly increases the durability of the fabric.

Waterproof - listening to the rain drumming against the tent will quickly make you realise that the success or failure of a fishing expedition depends, among other things, on the waterproofness of your bivvy.

So what do the magic numbers in the parameters of our fishing tents mean?

All of our carp tents have a high waterproof rating of 5000 to 15000mm water column, which is plenty to protect us from the rain. For example, monsoon rainfall reaches around 5000 mm of water column per year, and this means 5000 metres of water per square metre of surface area.

So, the values quoted are the water resistance of the fabric in terms of the water pressure the fabric can withstand before it starts to soak through. It is worth paying attention to this aspect, as it corresponds to the protective layer of our tent, which simply wears away with use over the years. A high waterproof rating means a longer life for your carp tent.

High quality frame - so that our fishing house does not collapse.

We can't imagine not investing in high quality of our bivvy, that's why all fishing tents signed with Tandem Baits logo are equipped with a very strong frame with appropriate profiling, making it easy to put up. An important aspect at this point is the diameter of the tubes used in the tents. The minimum parameters in smaller tents should oscillate around 16mm, in larger ones around 18mm. Adherence to these rules gives the angler a sense of security, even in the most unpredictable weather conditions.

Adequate ventilation of the bivvy - a guarantee of desired air circulation during hot weather.

Especially useful on hot days, but not only. Every room should be ventilated, including the fishing tent, especially if we cook in it. We offer a range of tents that are equipped with different door configurations, additional windows and even the possibility of opening the tent to the outside. Such comfortable conditions will allow you to endure the most annoying heat.

Visibility - a window on the fishing world so you don't miss a bite.

Another important aspect to pay attention to when choosing a bivvy, which will come to mind on rainy days. Carp bivvies with PVC panes give you the opportunity to observe the fishery from a safe place in the worst weather breakdowns and downpours.

Mosquito net - that is fighting with mosquitoes.

The easiest way to protect against insects while ventilating the bivvy.

Bivvy wrap - everyone deserves a nice warm spot, even when fishing.

A very important additional element of every fishing bivvy. It has two very important functions. The first is the thermal function. Using a wrap definitely improves the thermal insulation of the tent on colder days. The second function is to prevent condensation, which protects us from unpleasant surprises in our bivvy, in the form of water drops inside the tent.
