ACCESORIES FIRST CONTACT
Terminal tackle - why it is so important
These seem to be small, insignificant carp accessories. However, their use may turn out to be crucial in many cases.
There is no more important piece of tackle than the final part of the rig, i.e. the leader and lead assembly. The right cast, presentation, full camouflage - it all decides about success or failure on the water.
Carp that have been caught and released many times are extremely cautious, it is difficult to outsmart them, sometimes an inconspicuous flash of a swivel or a too visible set will make them run away. When designing FIRST CONTACT accessories we took these extremely important issues into consideration.
Depending on their application they are made of various materials, including thermoplastic silicones and top quality plastics. This increases their functionality, strength and resistance to deformation. It influences a better presentation of the lure, improves the safety of both the haul and the broken fish, which in such a case can free itself from the sinker.
One of their most important functions is camouflage and it is to this issue that we have devoted a lot of attention.
To get the best effect, the accessories are offered in three finishes: weed, silt, gravel/sand, and they determine the type of fishery in which they will camouflage the set best. An innovative solution is a certain degree of transparency, which optically blurs the edges and better blends the set into the surroundings, thus increasing the camouflage effect.
Our First Contact offer also includes the Tungsten First range of weighted accessories. This treatment makes them very heavy and they sink like a stone, adhering perfectly to the ground without scaring the fish. With the Tungsten range, you can be sure that your rig sits perfectly on the bottom and that the matte finish will blend in with the surrounding bottom environment. The range includes clips, connectors, beads and comes in two camouflaging colours: olive and brown.
Important parts of the set are also snaps, swivels, clips made of strong wire and precisely finished.
Our end set products have NON SHINE, dark matt non-reflecting coatings. They are all designed for our No. 8 swivel, which makes them more universal and interchangeable.
This may come in handy when you are making your rigs!
A swivel - is a small device consisting of two rings connected to a swivel joint. It prevents the line and leader from twisting with the set.
There are several types of swivels:
-
classic swivel (barrel) - with eyelets on two sides to which the line and leader are attached.
-
V-notched swivel - makes it easier to change the set
-
triple swivel - makes it possible to attach an additional leader
-
beaded swivel - the presence of beads additionally attracts fish, bringing them to the vicinity of the set
-
snaplink swivel - an excellent combination, which at the same time prevents the set from twisting and enables quick replacement and protection against its loss.
Bait attachments - applied to the hook, they allow a specific bait to be positioned. We distinguish:
-
ball stoppers - they are used to keep the bait (e.g. boilie or corn) on the bristle, so it doesn't slip off
-
worm clips - they make it possible to attach live baits
-
spring - attached to the hook makes it possible to additionally cover it with e.g. Paste
-
rubber bands - perfect for mounting boilies, pellets or grains
-
screws for pop-ups
Heat shrinkable tubes - allow many different arrangements and angles of the hook.
Hook adapters and sockets - they replace the shrinking tube and, like it, are used to set the position of the hook.
Anti-tangle protectors - improve the effectiveness of the end sets and reduce line tangling.
Rubber fasteners - securely block clips and weights.
Beads - provide protection for knots
Anti-tangle tubes - the best way to pinch the end of the main line before the leader to the bottom. They reduce tangling of the line.
Clips - release the set from the sinker during hooking and facilitate its fast replacement.
