Carp Mono

What to look for when choosing a carp line?

Choosing a carp line is something you need to do right.

If you want to maximise your chances of catching the carp of a lifetime, this piece of fishing kit simply cannot fail.

Can you imagine carp fishing without fishing line? Neither can we. But do you realise how much pressure anglers put on it? After all, the success of every carp angler depends on its durability and at the same time it is to blame for every fish breakage. So you will agree with us that the choice of carp line should be well thought out. Focusing on its parameters can change a lot in your fishing life.

Our offer has been specified for carp anglers who care about effective fishing. It is a wide range of fishing lines, in which everyone will definitely find something suitable for themselves. What distinguishes us is the quality, which is the most important point for us when creating a product.

In our offer you will find

  • fluo fishing lines such as Steel Mono Fluo, which can be seen both during the day and in the light of a torch. Its characteristics allow to use it in all conditions, also at long distances or during fishing.

  • Camouflaging lines such as Invader Ultra Mono - Dark Olive. This is a line which is not afraid of any challenges, which likes tough conditions. Use it wherever there is a possibility of encountering water obstacles.

  • casting lines e.g. Stealth Steel Mono, which has all the necessary characteristics connected with demanding, precise casting and hauling from long distances.

  • Tippet lines e.g. Stealth Steel Mono, ideal when you need to get your rig really far. Available in lengths of up to 1200 metres.

  • lines for hard, carp ploughing e.g. Invader Ultra Mono, this line loves hard conditions. You can confidently entrust it with the fate of your sittings.

  • universal lines such as Balistic MF is a line for all conditions, which you can simply rely on.

  • Shock leader lines - strong lines, ideal for use as a leader to protect the main line from overload, especially during long casts with heavy sets.

Standardisation of carp fishing lines

Let's start with the basics, namely line standards. Every line should have a marking that defines its quality. We distinguish between the following standardisations:

  • NT1000 the lowest quality line in this list. Often very cheap, but we advise against using it.

  • NT2000 is a monofilament that can be found in the offer of most angling producers.

  • NT3000 - fishing line of already good quality, can be the basic line in fishing equipment.

  • NT4000 is the standard that every carp angler should stop at for longer. Carp fishing lines of this value are trustworthy monolines characterised by great durability and high quality. We offer Steel Mono and Balistic Mono lines made from this quality material. In the further production process we give them appropriate properties, thanks to which each of these lines has a different purpose, but at the same time the same excellent base.

  • NT5000 and above are in a class of their own. Combination of all the best parameters of monofilaments in one product with very high breaking strength and abrasion resistance. Great monofilaments, which also have very good casting performance.

Our Invader Ultra - the pinnacle of polymer technology - is manufactured from this top material.

  • NT8600 - ultra thin performance monofilaments are produced from materials of this standardisation.

In our offer you will find lines with a high level of standardization that will not fail you on the fishery. We are obsessed with abrasion resistance and strength, which is why our monofilament standards start at NT4000.

Features of the best carp fishing lines

There are some very important factors to consider when choosing the best carp line. When going fishing it is worth taking a look at them.

Durability of the line vs. diameter

The line should be chosen according to the conditions of the fishery where you intend to fish. In this case you should be guided by the diameter of the line.

What does this mean?

It means that the more severe the conditions, the larger diameter of carp line you should use.

Which diameter to use?

  • under 0.28mm - this is the diameter of casting lines, the parameters of which are usually adjusted to sending sets at really long distances. A small diameter, however, means that these types of lines should be used in clear waters.

  • 0.30mm - this is the basic diameter of fishing lines in carp fishing, used in clear waters with a small number of hooks.

  • 0.35mm - this is the diameter of lines which should be used for heavier conditions, i.e. overgrown fisheries with a large number of hooks or other obstacles which may be at the bottom.

  • 0,40mm and larger - these are the diameters of monofilaments for hardcore fishing for big carp in very difficult fisheries with mega weeds, pegs or other kinds of snags, which are impossible to get through with lines of smaller diameters. These lines are not afraid of catching huge specimens from hard to reach places.

Abrasion resistance

This value determines the overall wear of a carp line caused by rubbing against snags, rocky bottom or other underwater "dirt".

During a bite, the hooked carp will naturally run towards underwater obstacles to hide, so it's worth getting a line that has a high abrasion resistance rating to increase your chances of winning the fight.

Line visibility

In theory, the less conspicuous the line, the better. Therefore it is worth choosing lines that camouflage well on the bottom, i.e. lines in green or brown colour. In very clear waters fluorocarbon is often used, which is transparent. You can also find fluo lines on the fishing market, in vivid, very visible colours. These lines are great for night fishing, when you need to be able to see in which direction the carp is running away and whether there are bushes around. The best way to camouflage your line in the water is to use a leader as the first section above the leader. It will sink to the bottom and lay in such a way that it doesn't disturb passing fish or arouse their suspicions.

Purpose

Learn the specifications of your fishery and choose the line whose parameters will perfectly match the standards of your fishing.

Long cast carp mono lines

Long casting lines are primarily smaller in diameter (0.26mm - 0.28mm), but it is worth noting a few other important features. Remember that hauling fish from long distances is not easy. Choosing the right line will be crucial in this case. Such line should have high abrasion resistance and low stretch to ensure good contact with the fish. It should also not twist, which will help to achieve further distances during casts.

Carp line for retrieving

This type of line is usually associated with a size 0.30. As far as characteristics are concerned, the retrieve line should be, above all, resistant to abrasion and have low stretch. Also pay attention to the length of the line, especially if you intend to fish at long distances.

Carp fishing line for difficult fishing conditions

If you realise that the water you've chosen is a difficult fishing ground, e.g. full of snags, hard to reach places, decide on a line of very high quality. What it should have above all is strength, so that it doesn't fail in any conditions. Use a larger diameter of 0.35 or 0.40 and secure the end section with a leader.
